"God gave me this earth to be an artist," said Evans, according to John Meroney of American Enterprise. "It is what I enjoy doing more than anything else, and I am going to achieve success." Evans was able to convince her to modify her song repertoire for No Place That Far in 1999 by producers. That gave her the fame she'd desired for so long.
